Construction

The Canvas Is What You Are Paying For

Inside every jacket is either a layer of horsehair canvas floated between the cloth and the lining, or a sheet of fusible glue. You cannot see the difference in a shop mirror. You see it after one Bangkok rainy season, when the fused chest starts to bubble and the lapel loses its roll.

We build with half or full canvas as standard. The chest moulds to you over time instead of fighting you, and the jacket still hangs correctly in five years. It is slower to make and it is the single biggest reason our bespoke suits in Bangkok start where they do rather than lower.

The other half of the equation is cloth weight. Anything above 300 grams is punishing here. We keep the core range between 240 and 280, which presses sharply and still breathes.

Pattern

Drafted for Your Posture, Not a Size Chart

Two men with identical chest and waist measurements can need completely different patterns. One stands upright with square shoulders, the other has a forward head carriage and a dropped left side. A size chart cannot see that. A tailor standing behind you can.

We note posture at the first appointment and build it into the paper pattern before any cloth is cut. That is what separates bespoke from made to measure, and it is why the first fitting is basted loosely rather than finished.

Bespoke Suit Questions

Pricing, timing, fittings, and fabric.

How much do bespoke suits in Bangkok cost at Om Fashion?
Bespoke suits in Bangkok start from 6,000 THB at Om Fashion for a fully tailored two-piece, with tuxedo suits from 7,500 THB and overcoats from 9,000 THB. The final price depends on the cloth you choose.
How long does a bespoke suit take to make?
Most suits are ready in 3 to 5 days, including one or two fittings. If you are on a tight schedule we can arrange an express make and bring the fittings to your hotel room.
What is the difference between bespoke and made to measure?
Bespoke means the pattern is drafted for your body from scratch, while made to measure adjusts an existing block. Om Fashion offers both and recommends honestly based on your build, budget, and time in Bangkok.
How many fittings will I need?
Usually one or two. The first confirms balance and shoulder line, the second refines waist, sleeve, and trouser length. Additional fittings are included at no extra cost.
What fabrics do you use?
Tropical-weight wools between 240 and 280 grams, linens, cottons, and genuine Thai silk, all chosen to work in Bangkok humidity. Fine imported cloths are quoted individually.
Can you ship a finished suit overseas?
Yes. If you leave Bangkok before your suit is complete we finish it and ship internationally at cost, and we keep your measurements on file for repeat orders.
